Age Group: U9 (Birth Year - 2016)

Recreational Soccer Program Overview:  

Welcome to our Recreational Soccer Program, where we strive to create an engaging and dynamic learning environment for families. Our focus is on skill development and fostering a genuine passion for the beautiful game. We've designed a game-based curriculum to enhance learning experiences, encouraging players to embrace mistakes, express creativity, and develop into confident and brave athletes. Player development is at the core of our program, guided by our 4 Pillars of Coaching:

1. Players Experience FUN: We want you to enjoy the game while also building a strong work ethic.
2. Players Connect through Positive Team Spirit: We focus on building camaraderie and teamwork through shared experiences- "igniting the furnace of human connection"
3. Players demonstrate growth with Positive Coaching: We support personal and skill development through positive reinforcement.
4. Player commitment increases when Learning and Improving is frequent: We aim to nurture a culture of continuous improvement and dedication to the sport.

Program Timeline:

**Potential Preseason session in April weather and space permitting**

• The program spans approximately 10 weeks (End of April - First Week of July):
• League season Weekdays in May and June
• Jamboree in June

Technical Overview and Commitment:

• Frequency: Two sessions per week, one day of Training (Cohort - Tech Staff Led) & One Day for Game.
• Days: Mondays & Wednesdays
• Session Duration: Training sessions last approximately 1 hour & Games 1 Hour.
• Match Play: 5v5 (4v4 plus Keeper)

League Participation:

• We are proud members of the Phoenix Football Club (PFC) Recreation League, featuring:
• Approximately 16 sessions (8 Training and 8 Games) for the season.
• All sessions will be within the Sherwood Park Area.
• Please note, at this age group, there is no Alberta Soccer Association provincial championship and scores/standings are not kept.

Coaching:

• Our program relies on parent volunteers for roles such as Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager to contribute to the program's overall success.
• Volunteer coaches are given an honorarium and can receive ongoing training and mentorship from Phoenix FC technical staff.
• A centralized curriculum is implemented through cohort training, supported by Google Classrooms organized by the Program Director, Technical Team, Junior Technical Coaches and Jr. Coach program.

Equipment and Fees:

Registration fees cover various aspects, including:

• Technical program/training costs
• Facility/field rental costs
• Team equipment
• Coach honorarium and clothing
• ASA membership and insurance costs

Fee Exclusions:

• Fees do not cover club apparel purchases, extra training fees, tournament entry fees, or related travel costs.

Schedule and Changes:

• Training and practice schedules align with the PFC league schedule.
• Schedules are subject to change with league updates released one week before startup.
• Weather conditions (thunder, lightning, air quality advisories, and heat index) may lead to session/game cancellations.
• Rescheduling will be attempted where possible, though not guaranteed.

Early-Bird Price: $330.00 (Feb. 10 - Feb. 26, 2025)

Regular Price: $355.00 (Feb. 27 - Mar. 31, 2025)

Volunteer Fee: $100.00 (3 Hours Required)

Payment Details:

Initial Payment: $150.00 (Program Fee Deposit) + $100.00 (Volunteer Fee)

Second Payment: $102.50 on April 30, 2025

Third Payment: $102.50 on May 30, 2025
